Authenticity Guide
Football Shirt Revival uses structured authenticity evidence to help buyers understand how each shirt has been assessed.
Authenticity Classifications
Genuine
An original shirt produced by the manufacturer for retail, teamwear or official use. These shirts are assessed using available labels, product codes, tags, construction details and supporting evidence.
Custom
An authentic shirt that has been customised after production. The base shirt is assessed for authenticity, while any custom work is clearly disclosed.
Template
An authentic manufacturer-produced template shirt customised to resemble a club shirt. The garment itself may be authentic, but it was not originally produced in that club specification.
Official Remake
A fully licensed remake of a historic shirt. These are not original period-produced shirts and are classified separately.
Unofficial Remake
A modern reproduction that is not officially licensed or endorsed by the original rights holder.
Unofficial Design
An unofficial football shirt design that is not an original club-issued shirt. It may be fan designed, inspired by a manufacturer range, or produced as a standalone concept design. It is not officially licensed or endorsed by the club or original rights holder.
Unknown
The origin cannot currently be verified. These items are not given an authenticity evidence rating.
Authenticity Evidence Ratings
Ratings are based on available supporting evidence, not product condition or customer reviews.
- Verified: independently verified by KitLegit or supported by original purchase evidence.
- Strong: strong supporting evidence such as verified style code, wash label, neck label and authentic tag code.
- Good: good supporting evidence, but not all expected identifiers are present.
- Some: some supporting evidence is available.
- Limited: limited evidence is available, which can be common for older shirts.
